Concert for a Cause 8: Band Blog
The Highlander is proud to support Concert for a Cause 8. The event, was founded in April 1999 as Concert for Karen, a tribute benefit for a local woman who died of Leukemia, and benefited the Leukemia Society of America.
This year the event will take place April 22 at The Woodlands Inn & Resort, and it will benefit the United Way Veterans Services. The concert will feature over 30 local bands on four stages. Bands such as 40-Lb. Head, k8, Bad Hair Day, The Five Percent, Flaxy Morgan, Pancea, and M-80 will be shredding for service. Admission is $7.
The Highlander will profile a different band each issue, appearing in this blog, along with a series covering Concert for a Cause 8.

Days Before Tomorrow

This edition The Highlander spoke to Scott Kahn of Days Before Tomorrow [DBT]. This band started wailing in 2006 and released its first EP the same year. The band, which has members from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ireland, classifies its sound as a mix of arena, melodic and progressive rock. Days Before Tomorrow features Eric Klein on lead vocals, Kahn and Derek Davodowich on guitars, Jason Gianni on drums, Damon Fibraio on keyboards and Paul O’Keeffe on bass. Scott VanFossen, guitarist and lead vocalist, Steve Berlen on drums and Jon “Jonesy” Jones from Ashfall on bass make up the current line-up of Fighting Zero. This will be the northeastern Pennsylvania-based band’s fourth time playing Concert for a Cause. Cougar Radio will be interviewing Fighting Zero for the Concert for a Cause 8 radio program. Michael Sharkey formed the Pittston band with Anthony Giamusso (lead vocals and guitar), Sam Chiarelli (lead guitar), Stephan Martin (bass) and Mark Lieback (drums) two and a half years ago. This pop/rock quintet is influenced by a wide variety of musicians spanning several decades, including Prince, Genesis, Michael Jackson and Metallica.
