The night was full of a wide variety of songs ranging from catchy show tunes to speaker thumping hip hop.  The event had a positive turnout as the Cougar’s den was filled nearly to capacity with students eager to sing or watch their friends and fellow classmates perform.

Although the event mostly featured karaoke “first timers” such as Freshman Mark Werger, Eric Soler, Mason Coldwater and Mark DeStefano, there were also several performances by seasoned karaoke veterans such as Senior Josh Chaudoin, Junior Lottie Johnson and Freshman Jessica Bealer.

Bealer, who sings Karaoke about 3 or 4 times a year, sang a spirited rendition of Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby” and appeared to have little to no difficulty singing for the mass of students that had piled into the Cougar’s den.

She claimed she was slightly nervous. “It helps when your friends are up in front cheering you on.”

If you missed out on the Karaoke action and would like to either participate or just sit back and enjoy the vocal stylings of your fellow MU students, there will be another Karaoke night in the Cougar’s Den on October 25.
