The shortened paper covered the story of the performances of Shakespeare and how they directly correlate to the Age of Terror. Steinberger presented the paper in its entirety in July at the Anglina Ruskin University Conference in
The presentation focused on examples from the movie “V for Vendetta.” The film's plot was derived from The Gunpowder Plot from 605 combined with “Macbeth.”
“I procrastinated in writing this paper but if I didn't I never would of seen this to use in my paper,” said Steinberger, “which doesn't mean my students can also.”
Dr. Thomas Hajkowski, Assistant Professor of History, asked Steinberger if she had any other conspiracy theories that she felt passionately about. She was more than happy to oblige, sharing several. One included a series of events linking Shakespeare with The Gunpowder Plot.
Corine Coniglio, Ph.D., director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning said she found the presentation interesting. “I thought it was wonderful. Dr. Becky has a flair for sharing her knowledge. The neatest thing is her passion for it.”
”It's thrilling for me to share my reactions with the campus community because the scholarly side of life is very insular. To be able to share it with your friends and colleagues is what it's all about,” Steinberger said.
