Susan Bochnovich and Jamie Wargo have been honored by the MAC as scholar-athletes of the year in their respective sports.
Both women are physical therapy majors and will graduate with their master’s degrees in May, 2010.
Bochnovich maintains a 3.92 grade point average and was selected in women’s track & field while Wargo carries a 3.73 GPA and was named in women’s lacrosse.
Bochnovich won the 100m and 200m dashes at the MAC Championships over the weekend while breaking her own school records in both events. She owns three individual school outdoor records and two relay records.
She is a two-time team MVP and a two-time Coach’s Award recipient and was the MAC Female Indoor Track Athlete of the Year after winning the 100m, 200m and 4x400m relay.
Wargo, a two-time team MVP, recently completed one of the most successful careers in Misericordia women’s lacrosse history.
She is second in career assists (36), fourth in career goals (128) and fourth in career points (164) and was a second-team all-conference selection as a sophomore and a junior.
A two-sport standout, Wargo was a four-year letter winner in field hockey and was a first-team All-Freedom conference selection as a senior.
