Sue Bochnovich and Cody Hack have been named the 2008-2009 Wendy’s Athletes of the Year at Misericordia University.
Bochnovich is a senior sprinter on the track and field team while Hack is a senior on the soccer and baseball teams.
Bochnovich won three events (100m, 200m, 4x400m relay) at the MAC Indoor Track & Field Championships and was named the Track Athlete of the Meet.
She added two MAC Championships (100m, 200m) during the outdoor season.
She set two school indoor records and two school outdoor records and qualified for the ECAC Championships in indoor and outdoor.
In addition, Bochnovich received the Coach’s Award and was MU’s Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Hack led the MU men’s soccer team to a Freedom Conference championship and was the Freedom Conference Player of the Year.
He set a new school single-season record with 13 assists and finished third on the team in scoring with 27 points.
He was a second-team NSCAA/adidas All-Region selection and was Misericordia’s Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
In addition, he was a pitcher/outfielder while helping the MU baseball team to a school-record 22 victories.
In its 10th year, the Wendy’s Misericordia University Athlete of the Month program is sponsored by Quality Served Fast (QSF), the local Wendy’s franchise organization.
