MU’s soccer players say senior Max Campbell is the team’s go-to man.
“Max is a quick and smart player when he steps onto the soccer field,” says teammate Jeremy Kushner. Max hails from Watsontown Pennsylvania and is currently a senior at Misericordia University. Campbell, from Watsontown, PA, is a four year member of the team, and has led the team in scoring for two years. In 2006, he grabbed second team All-PAC honors with eight goals and five assists. The following year, he upgraded his play by making first team All-PAC and being named the PAC Player of the Year. He also was named to the second team NSCAA/Adidas All-Region. He also had eleven goals and ten assists. “Max is not only a great soccer player on the field; he is also a great person off the field,” Kushner adds.
Campbell has made his presence felt on the field again this year by scoring six goals and having six assists through the first ten games. Campbell was also been named Wendy’s Athlete of the Month for September.
Max has led the Cougars to an eight and two record along with a nice victory in the conference opener against Alvernia. He is involved in every play, players say, whether it is scoring goals or assisting. The Cougars continue conference play Saturday October 4 at Manhattanville.
