MU alumnus, Alfred Santasiere III, held a book signing in the lobby of Anderson Sports and Health Center for his book, “Yankee Stadium: The Official Retrospective” on November 22.

Santasiere is currently the director of publications for the New York Yankees. He graduated from MU with a degree in business management. He then went on to receive his masters in sports administration from St. Thomas University in Miami Florida.

“Yankee Stadium: The Official Retrospective” is a 232 page coffee table book which includes an introduction written by New York Yankee’s owner, George Steinbrenner, and a forward written by former New York mayor, Rudy Giuliani. The book also consists of 81 first-hand accounts of Yankee stadium which included former presidents of the United States and former New York Yankee baseball players.

Students, faculty and members of the community were invited to Santasiere’s book signing. “Yankee Stadium: The Official Retrospective” was sold in Anderson for $50 and patrons were then encouraged to have their book signed by Santasiere.

Sophomore Brianne Lavelle purchased a book for her grandmother’s Christmas present. “My grandmother is a huge Yankee’s fan, so I’m sure she’ll appreciate a personalized book about her favorite team,” she said.

Sophomore Kelsey Davis purchased books for her neighbors to give to their husbands as Christmas gifts. “I think it’s wonderful that Misericordia alum has returned to his roots. It has also given my neighbors a chance to give a truly personal gift,” she said.
